“It’s interesting to see how widespread interest is in Gamma Knife surgery,” says Professor Lippitz , whose research focuses on brain metastasis. Based on current research, he says, “we have solid proof that we now have reproducable tumor control when treating brain metastasis” that radiosurgery compared to whole brain radiotherapy (WBRT) is superior in terms of tumor control, quality of life and length of survival.
